SEAFORD, DE  Aug. 04, 2023 // Brainerd Chemical Company, a leading U.S. based chemical manufacturer and hybrid distributor headquartered in Tulsa, OK, opens a new production, storage and distribution facility in Seaford, Delaware.

“The new facility adds to the company’s five existing facilities, strengthening our strategic network and creating exponential opportunities for our customers and our team,” explained CFO Erika Coates.

Brainerd Chemical markets a diversified line of specialty and industrial chemicals for a variety of applications, including water treatment, food and beverage safety, oil & gas production, animal health, paint & coatings, mining, metal finishing as well as the glass industry.  The Seaford facility supports with mission by providing high-volume PAA production with the ability to supply hydrogen peroxide and acetic acid via rail access or bulk transport directly from Seaford. It’s a strong advantage that offers customers more efficient delivery options throughout the northeastern US.

DOT Concentrated Nitric Acid Special Permit Renewed

Celebrating 40 Years at Brainerd Chemical Co.

Mathew (“Mat”) A. Brainerd, Chairman and CEO of Brainerd Chemical Company, Inc. (Tulsa, OK – United States), a family owned and managed distributor with activities in 40 states of the U.S., has recently celebrated his 40th work anniversary. The youngest of three brothers, Mat became President of Brainerd Chemical in 1979, when his father Harold Brainerd, Jr., the company’s founder, was approaching retirement.

Over the last 40 years, Mathew has worked to expand Brainerd’s product line into many new markets, which resulted in the company’s growth from a local chemical outlet to a major chemical supplier. Being very active in industry associations like Alliance for Chemical Distribution  (ACD) or the International Council of Chemical Trade Associations (ICCTA), he is well known also to distributors in Europe from his regular visits to the FECC Congress. Mathew has worked to impact the legislative and regulatory processes in the chemical industry to promote safety and environmental protection.

In November 2016 NACD named Mathew the 2016 Distributor of the Year. According to NACD, recipients of this award “demonstrate outstanding commitment to the chemical distribution community and work steadfastly on behalf of NACD and the entire industry.”

Helping the Assistance League Help Students

SEPTEMBER 28th, 2017 // Brainerd Chemical, a major regional chemical supplier and distributor, joined the Assistance League of Tulsa to help students obtain school uniforms.

The Tulsa World reported about how Brainerd employees volunteered to help 25 students at Springdale Elementary School with new uniforms as part of Operation School Bell. The Assistance League of Tulsa provides clothing to 3,000 students from Tulsa Public Schools and suburban schools annually.

Each of the 25 students from Springdale received two new school uniforms including pants and shirts, a weekend outfit, a winter coat with gloves, underwear, socks, a pair of shoes and a hygiene kit. The children also received two books and a notepad for writing.
