Terrastat® 1522-S is an EPA Registered blend of 16% peracetic acid and 23% hydrogen peroxide. Used for a variety of applications across multiple industries. Brainerd’s Terrastat® line of PAA products have up to a one-year shelf life when stored properly.
Water Treatment Applications:
Terrastat® 1522-S is used in many industrial applications that call for EPA registered peracetic acid to be used as a disinfectant, antimicrobial, or sanitization microbial. Typical industrial uses for Brainerd’s Terrastat® 1522-S registered PAA include:
- Reverse Osmosis (RO), Ultra-Filtration (UF) and other membrane cleaning
- Biofouling control in pulp, paper and paperboard mill and water systems
- Control of slime forming bacteria and biofouling in once-through and recirculating cooling water systems (cooling towers, evaporative condensers, and air washers)
- Non-Food contact water systems and ornamental or recreation water features
- Sewer backup and river flooding
- Water damage restoration
- Disinfection and microbial control in sewage and wastewater effluent treatment plants
Oil & Gas Applications:
In the oil & gas industry, Terrastat® 1522-S is designed to control anaerobic sulfide-forming bacteria or aerobic slime forming bacteria. Terrastat® 1522-S PAA is typically used in:
- Fresh or Recycled waters
- Secondary recovery systems
- Pipeline and tank maintenance
- Drilling muds, fracturing fluids, well squeezed fluids
- Flooding, injection and produced water sanitation
Food Safety:
EPA registered Terrastat® 1522-S has many food safety and animal health applications including the disinfection of animal and poultry plants and processing operations. Other uses of Brainerd’s PAA include:
- Treatment of processing waters and surfaces to control the growth of microorganisms that can cause spoilage of fresh-cut, raw post-harvest or processed fruits, nuts and vegetables
- Treatment of raw, unprocessed fruit and vegetable surfaces
- Antimicrobial rinse of pre-cleaned or new returnable or non-returnable containers
