Terrastat® 15 is a blend of 16% peracetic acid and 7.5% hydrogen peroxide. PAA is a very high oxidation chemical and is very reactive as a result. Terrastat® 15 exhibits excellent bactericidal and fungicidal activity against a wide range of microorganisms in various water temperatures and has a one-year shelf life if stored properly.
Food Safety Applications:
Terrastat® 15 is listed in the USDA FSIS 7120.1 Safe and Suitable List as an antimicrobial and has been cleared through letters of “no objection” by the USDA. In the food and beverage industry, Terrastat® 15 is mixed with water and/or ice and used to:
- Wash, rinse, cool, or process whole or cut red meat; including parts, trim, and organs
- Apply as a spray, wash, rinse, dip, chiller, and/or scalding water to whole or cut poultry; including parts, trims, and organs
- Chill or wash fruits and vegetables
- Prepare seafood for processing
- Wash shell eggs
Oil & Gas Applications:
In the oil & gas industry, Terrastat® 15 is designed to scavenge hydrogen sulfide, iron sulfide, and other contaminants from drilling, completion, and production waters. Terrastat® 15 peracetic acid is typically used in:
- Drilling Muds
- Workover & Completion Fluids
- Water Flooding Operations
- Saltwater Disposals and Injection Wells
