Sodium hydroxide is used to manufacture soaps, rayon, paper, explosives, dyestuffs, and petroleum products. Brainerd Chemical offers sodium hydroxide (caustic) solutions in the range of 1-50% by weight. Our most common sodium hydroxide solutions are 50% and 25% by weight. The 25% sodium hydroxide solution is beneficial due to the 0°F freezing point, compared with a 50% sodium hydroxide solution, which has a freezing point closer to 60°F.
